Goldcrest Pictures and Goldcrest Capital Partners structure transactions in the media sector. From 2006 to 2008 - the first two years of operation - we provided services on 18 films ranging in budget from $3 million to $98 million, of which four have opened at number 1 at the US box office.
Goldcrest Capital also raises funds and provides services specifically on UK independent feature films. The first two films of this new initiative are Andrea Arnold’s much anticipated Wuthering Heights and Phyllida Lloyd’s biopic of Margaret Thatcher The Iron Lady, starring 16-time Oscar nominee Meryl Streep as the former UK Prime Minister.
Wuthering Heights is produced by Douglas Rae and Robert Bernstein of Ecosse Films and Kevin Loader and is being co-financed with the UK Film Council, Film4 and Screen Yorkshire. Artificial Eye will distribute in the UK and HanWay Films are handling international sales.
The Iron Lady is produced by Damian Jones and is a Pathé, Film4, UK Film Council presentation of a DJ Films Production with the participation of Canal+ and Cine Cinema in association with Goldcrest Film Production LLP.
