Wuthering Heights premiered in competition at the Venice Film Festival in September 2011. The film stars newcomer James Howson alongside Kaya Scodelario (Clash of the Titans) and Nichola Burley (StreetDance 3D). Wuthering Heights is produced by Douglas Rae and Robert Bernstein of Ecosse Films and Kevin Loader and co-financed with the UK Film Council, Film4 and Screen Yorkshire and presented in association with Goldcrest Film Production LLP. Artificial Eye distribute in the UK and HanWay Films are handling international sales.
The Iron Lady is produced by Damian Jones and is a Pathé, Film4, UK Film Council presentation of a DJ Films Production with the participation of Canal+ and Cine Cinema in association with Goldcrest Film Production LLP. Pathé will distribute the film in France, and Fox distributed the film in the UK on behalf of Pathé on 6 January 2012 with an opening weekend box office of £2.1m. The Weinstein Company released in the US on 16 December 2011 on a limited run of 4 prints and will expand their release on 13 January 2012. Pathé International are handling worldwide sales. We are also delighted to announce that Now Is Good is in post production. Written and directed by Ol Parker and based on Jenny Downham's best selling teen novel 'Before I Die', the film stars Dakota Fanning (Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) with Paddy Considine (Dead Man's Shoes) and Olivia Williams (The Ghost). The film is produced by Graham Broadbent and Pete Czernin of Blueprint Films, for the British Film Institute, BBC Films and Lip Sync in association with Rising Star Films plc. The funding for Rising Star Films plc was raised by Goldcrest Capital. The film will be distributed by TF1 in France, Warner Bros Pictures in the UK and Sony in the US. International sales are handled by TF1.
Rising Star Media has commenced production services on the third feature from acclaimed British director Mat Whitecross (Ashes, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, co-director The Road to Guantanamo) SPIKE ISLAND. Produced by Fiona Nielson and Esther Douglas of Fiesta Productions the film will star Elliott Tittensor, Nico Mirallegro, Emilia Clarke, Matthew McNulty, Lesley Manville, Steve Evets, Adam Long, Oliver Heald and Jordan Murphy. Written by Chris Coghill SPIKE ISLAND is set in 1990’s Manchester and is the story of five 16 year old boys, die-hard fans of UK band The Stone Roses, who dream of making it big with their own band Shadow Caster and seeing their heroes lives at the gig of the decade. The film is being supported by Head Gear Films, the BFI Film Fund, Coldplay and the BBC in association with Rising Star Media. Distributor Revolver Entertainment will release the film in the UK and international sales are being sold by Bankside Films. SPIKE ISLAND starts principal photography on 5 March 2012.
