The life of David Ben-Gurion the first Prime Minister of Israel, examines the historical roots of contemporary conflicts. His story is interwoven with the story of the millions of other Jews who have left their adopted homes around the world and made their way to Jerusalem. It follows in detail the progress, and disasters, which were to confront his people. He masterminded the development of the Israeli army and continuously supported the Israeli cause. It was Ben-Gurion who announced the Proclamation of Independence and declared the establishment of the Jewish State to be known as the State of Israel.
