Penny Wolf, Head of Film

With over 25 years experience in the film industry, and exposure to some of the greatest names in film production and distribution, Penny Wolf may well be considered one of the sector’s long-standing veterans.
After graduating from the prestigious Durham University in England, she began her career at VCL in the early 1980s as Sales Director. VCL was then the largest distributor of video product in the World, having offices in eight countries ranging from Australia to South Africa and throughout Europe.
Graduating to Vestron in 1986 as International Director of Sales, she was responsible for handling a variety of major hits including Dirty Dancing, Hamberger Hill, and the internationally acclaimed Thriller, by Michael Jackson. After short spells with IAC and Senator, she then progressed to Capitol Films, handling sales across Europe, the Far East and Latin America. Rising to Vice President International Sales in 1997, she was responsible for overseeing such titles as the Oscar winning Gosford Park, and Rogue Trader.
From Capitol Penny joined Granada, where she established their theatrical sales division, handling such titles on the international stage as Bloody Sunday and Vanity Fair.
Head Hunted by HBO in 2003, Penny was chosen to lead the highly acclaimed ‘HBO Films’ division in London. Here she was responsible for taking HBO’s slate of award winning films to the international market, and oversaw such titles as Gust Van Sant’s Elephant, Maria Full of Grace and The Life and Death of Peter Sellers.
With HBO’s withdrawal from London, Penny became Managing Director of PeaceArch - the quoted Canadian media company - before launching her vehicle THE FILM CONSULTANCY PARTNERS at Cannes in 2008. FCP called upon experienced like-minded expertise from all sectors of the industry, encompassing marketing, sales, finance and legal services.
Laura Wu, International Sales

Most recently Laura worked as an independent sales agent representing Pelé Forever, the definitive documentary about the legendary Brazilian footballer, produced by Universal Brazil and Spier Films, producer of the Golden Bear winner U-Carmen. Laura was responsible for the acquisition of the Brazilian title Dead Girl's Feast, which was subsequently selected for the prestigious Un Certain Regard in Cannes 2008.
Previously, Laura worked at respected international distributor Arclight Films where she was involved in the sales and presales of both festival and commercial titles such as Slipstream directed by Antony Hopkins, Flashbacks of a Fool with Daniel Craig, Chinese martial arts epic Three Kingdoms, and Bank Job, a $25M feature starring Jason Statham.
Brought up in Singapore, Laura started her career by directing and producing television programs, firstly in Hong Kong and later based in Taiwan for Pan Asian satellite television. Laura moved to the UK in 2000 successfully pursuing an MA in Film Studies at Sheffield Hallam University, and is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese.
Márcia Nunes, International Sales & Acquisitions

Márcia Nunes has lived in Brazil, Ecuador, Canada and the United States. A native Portuguese speaker, she became fluent in English, French and Spanish. These experiences ignited her passion for international film, which is what brought her to Goldcrest two years ago.
Previously, Márcia was Sales Manager for a nonprofit theatrical production company. She then moved on to PR, working on the Hispanic Marketing campaigns for such films as Spiderman 3, The Departed, Babel, Happy Feet, Crank, and Music and Lyrics.
Márcia holds a Bachelor's degree with honors from Barnard College, Columbia University; and a Master's degree concentrating in Film Business from the Gallatin School at New York University.
